Yanukovych treason case: court hears witnesses for defense

The court continues to consider the case of Viktor Yanukovych’s state treason. The jury now listens to the witnesses for the defence and their testimonies.

Among them is Andriy Nykyforov, the resident of the occupied Crimea and member of anti-Maidan, the pro-Russian movement that opposed Euromaidan in late 2013-early 2014. Another witness is Anatoliy Kobylynsky, the former guard of Mezhyhiria, the presidential residence of the former Ukrainian leader.

He remained there even after the Revolution of Dignity took over, which happened in February 2014. The guard saw how president’s sidekicks helped him move his belongings out of the residence as Yanukovych escaped to Russia.
