A witness in the case of Viktor Yanukovych’s state treason testified in court in Kyiv on Wednesday. Resident of Crimea Oksana Mediyeva told the jury about the events of February 2014, when Russian troops captured the Ukrainian peninsula.

According to her, Euromaidan activists attacked her and some other pro-government protesters as they were on their way to Crimea. Mediyeva’s lawyers insist she was beaten up, so they asked the court to interrogate her as a witness in this case.

The lawyers also ask that the Ukrainian court allowed Yanukoych to join the session in the video conference mode. Prosecutors insist that the Russian side should not be allowed to organize this video conference.
