Winner of Karlovy Vary Film Festival hands her money prize over to families of Sentsov, Serebrennikov

Elizaveta Stishova, a prizewinner at the 53rd Karlovy Vary International Film Festival gave a part of her money reward to the parents of Oleg Sentsov, Ukrainian film director and his Russian colleague, Kirill Serebrennikov.

Stishova won Gran Prix at East of the West Competition with her Suleiman Mountain, the unconventional family-road-trip drama.

At the award ceremony, Stishova supported Serebrennikov and Sentsov, as both filmmakers currently remain imprisoned in Russia. She said she would transfer 15 thousand Euro of her prize to the parents of her two counterparts.

Ukraine’s Oleg Sentsov has been starving in the Russian penal colony of Labytnangi, demanding to release him and other Ukrainian political prisoners.
