Vucic leads at presidential election in Serbia
16:14, 3 April 2017

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic declared himself a winner of the Presidential elections. The final results of the voting are not yet published, while the exit polls demonstrate a big margin of victory, enough for the win in the first round. Sasha Yankovic scores second with around 15% of votes.

The position of the President of Serbia is mostly ceremonial. However, the opposition is a bit apprehensive that the current Prime Minister gets real power while his party is controlling the parliament.

Vucic is supporting Serbia’s entry into the EU and strengthening relations with Russia at the same time.
