U.S., Romania hold joint military drills

U.S. Army servicemen and armored cavalry reached Romania for joint military exercises slated for next month. The troops will be stationed at the military airbase near Constanta, Eastern Romania.

About 1500 infantry, Abrams battle tanks, IFV Bradley and howitzers will be involved.
Previously the similar contingent of U.S. troops was deployed in Poland.

In January 2017 a large group of American military vehicles was deployed in the Baltic states which was agreed and coordinated between the states leaders.

On February 14, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg urged the Alliance's member countries to increase the defense outlay.
