U.S. might increase sanctions pressue on Russia

22:12, 1 June 2017

The U.S. could extend sanctions against Russia for the continuous aggression in Ukraine and the hacker attacks on U.S. structures.

The respective bill was developed by two senators from Idaho and Utah. The restrictive measures affect such areas as extraction of commercial minerals, metallurgy and railways.

The joint statement on the issue says Russia has been systematically building up its armed forces and using cyber weaponry to drive a wedge between the U.S. and its allies.

Previously, the G7 member countries threatened Moscow with new sanctions, if Russia continues to ignore Minsk agreements.
