The U.S. Embassy in Moscow did not issue visas to ten members of the Russian delegation for participation in the UN General Assembly session. The head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev reported this.

He and the head of Secretariat-General of the ministry and chief translator Sergey Butin were not granted the entry permits. According to Kosachev, they were not denied visas directly. The members of the delegation have not received their passports on time. The documents are still in the embassy.
