The US elected Nikki Haley to be the United States Ambassador to the United Nations in a near-unanimous vote. Samantha Power will be replaced by the Governor of South Carolina.

Nikki Haley is one of few women and representatives of national minorities in Trump’s administration. She was born to an Indian immigrant family.

In the Senate Nikki Haley stated that the U.S. can’t trust Russia and shouldn’t lift sanctions until they see any positive steps by Russia.
