U.S. still decides on the date of supply of the first batch of Javelins launchers to Ukraine. The Ukrainian military expects the weapons to arrive in summer.

Meanwhile, one of Ukraine’s news agencies reported that the U.S. commission had arrived in Kyiv in order to evaluate the storage conditions for these weapons. As is known, the respective contract is worth USD 47 million. Under the deal, Ukraine is to get 35 launchers and 210 anti-tank missiles for them.

According to Kurt Volker, the U.S. Special Envoy in Ukraine’s affairs, the Javelins are purely defensive weapons. The only case they are used is a tank charge; they are not supposed to be used for attacking the enemy or on the frontlines.
