The United Kingdom supports Ukraine and its sailors captured by the Russian special forces in the Kerch Strait in November. Matthew Warren, the British Navy Captain and the commander of HMS Echo said that during the meeting at Ukraine's defense ministry.

The military also discussed the situation in the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea. On December 19, the reconnaissance ship of the British Royal Navy arrived in the port of Odesa, which is supposed to show the support of the freedom of navigation in the region.

According to the Ukrainian Navy command, the vessel will be staying in Ukraine's waters until December 22.
