Today, the UN Security Council will vote for a resolution on Syria, postponed earlier because of Russia. The resolution is about month-long truce in the Eastern Ghouta, where several hundred civilians perished in the past few days.

It provides for delivering humanitarian aid there and for the evacuation of the wounded. The day before the draft was proposed by Sweden and Kuwait.

However, Russia disrupted the voting by offering its own variant. It is still unknown whether Moscow will apply the veto right this time.
