Ukrainians mark Day of Dignity and Freedom

Today on the 21st of November Ukrainians mark Day of Dignity and Freedom.

More than 400 public events are scheduled across the country. The traffic was blocked in the main street of Khreshchatyk and on the Square of Independence at 4 o’clock in the morning.

Patrol police are guarding the neighbouring streets and the city downtown, the metal detector frames were established.

People started gathering at about 9 a.m.

Meanwhile dog handlers already spotted a suspicious package on Khreshchatyk. The explosives experts checked the package and stated a false alert

The relatives of those deceased during the Maidan uprising at the Revolution of Dignity put flowers at a monument to the heroes of “Heavenly Hundred”.

According to the National Police, about 18,000 Police and National Guard officers will maintain public order all over Ukraine.
