Ukrainian Parliament approves 2017 state budget at 5 a.m. Wednesday

The Parliament of Ukraine adopted the state budget for 2017 at 5 a.m. Wednesday.

274 MPs voted for, 37 voted against.

Petro Poroshenko Bloc, the National Front, Oleh Lyashko Radical Party, Vidrodzennya and Volia Narodu factions supported the draft law. Tymoshenko’s Batkivshchyna, Opposition Bloc and Samopomich voted against.

The budget committee worked on the final cost calculation until 4 a.m. After that the draft was handed over to the MPs for review. Some of them stated that the document wasn’t complete, thus they had no idea what they were voting for. The Speaker Andriy Parubiy stated that all the amendments were included.
