Ukrainian parliament adopts amendments on conviction in absentia, which may influence Viktor Yanukovych’s case

Viktor Yanukovych, the fugitive Ukrainian president, may be prosecuted for treason on March 10th if the amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine are approved by the Ukrainian MPs these days. This was reported by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Yuriy Lutsenko.

MPs have already considered this question.

They voted for amendments concerning conviction in absentia in the first hearing.

233 deputies supported the decision.
