Ukraine’s Sentsov discharged from medical unit in Russia prison

Oleg Sentsov, the famous Ukrainian filmmaker has been discharged from the medical facility of Labytnangi penal colony in northern Russia. The Russian media reported that, quoting the press office of the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service.

Now that the Ukrainian political prisoner gradually recovered after the hunger strike, he is back in the general prison cell again. Sentsov has been serving time in Labytnangi since 2015. The Russian court found him guilty of the alleged preparations of terrorist acts in the occupied Crimea.

The inmate demanded to release all Ukrainian political prisoners and announced a hunger strike, which last for 145 days. The starvation inflicted serious damage to his health, resulting in organic changes to his heart, liver and kidneys.
