Ukraine’s state security service, the SBU, detained the agent of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, as he tried to induce high-ranked official into taking a bribe. The detainee is now testifying at Prosecutor General’s Office.

It appears that the undercover agent contacted Dina Pimakhova, deputy head of the State Migration Service, offering her money for forging documents for foreign citizens. Pimakhova revealed this to the SBU, which began to keep track of the agent’s activities and followed him for two months.

Eventually, they detained him, when he tried to give Pimakhova a bribe. The SBU and Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko unanimously claimed that the suspect’s actions were unacceptable. Currently, leaders of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau also testify at Prosecutor General’s Office.
