Ukrainian Stanislav Klykh, the political prisoner in Russia, has been taken to a hospital in Magnitogorsk. His lawyer Ilya Novikov reported that on Thursday.

According to him, the prisoner’s family heard nothing about his current health problems, so they now wonder why he was taken to hospital. Recently, the administration of the jail where Klykh serves time reported that he would be hospitalized for treatment.

In October 2016, the Ukrainian was charged with fighting and killing Russian servicemen during the First Chechen war in the mid-1990s. Klykh was found guilty and sentenced to 20 years in jail.
