Ukraine’s Parliament Speaker signs law on lifting parliamentary immunity

Dmytro Razumkov, the Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament signed the law on lifting the parliamentary immunity. Now, the bill will be handed to President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Recently, 373 Ukrainian lawmakers supported the bill that cancels their own immunity; from 2020 onwards, the MPs may be arrested and brought to justice without the consent of the Parliament.

However, the officials can not be punished for their voting or non-voting actions or verbal expressions in the session hall.
