Muslims of Ukraine mark Kurban Bayram, otherwise referred to as Eid al-Adha, the feast of sacrifice. It is one of the holiest feasts in the Muslim world.

Believers came to the Morning Prayer held at Ar-Rahma, their main shrine in Kyiv; the ceremony of offering sacrifice followed. Worshippers and guests of the feast also attended the holiday fair within the mosque’s premises.

The meat from the sacrifice of Eid al-Adha is mostly given away to others. One-third is eaten by immediate family and relatives, one-third is given away to friends, and one-third is donated to the poor.

The act symbolizes people’s willingness to give up things that are of benefit to them or close to their hearts.
