The former leader answered numerous questions of the Russian, Ukrainan and European press. Yanukovych escaped from Ukraine during the Revolution of Dignity in February 2014. He's been residing in Russia ever since.

The law enforcement and judicial authorities of Ukraine brought him to justice and initiated the criminal case under several articles. In January, Obolon district court sentenced the ousted ex-president to 13 years behind the bars for state treason and assisting in waging the aggressive war against Ukraine. However, the judges found he was not guilty of the attempt upon Ukraine's territorial integrity.
