Ukraine ‘not ready for direct dialogue’ with self-styled republics in Donbas, - Russia

The decision on holding a new summit in the Normandy format will be made based on Ukraine's progress in terms of fulfilling its commitments within the current agreements. Aleksandr Grushko, Deputy Head of the Russian Foreign Ministry said so during the Munich Security Conference.

According to him, it concerns disengagement of forces, ceasefire mode, mine clearing, exchange of captives and implementation of the Steinmeier formula in the Ukrainian law.  The diplomat claimed that the main problem remains, as Ukraine shows "no readiness for the direct dialogue" with the occupied territories.

Previously, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky denied any chance that Kyiv would negotiate with the illegal armed formations in Donbas. Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko added that the Normandy Summit that is planned for April could be actually delayed.
