Today Ukraine celebrates the Day of Crimean Tatars’ opposition to Russian occupation. Four years ago the mass rally took place near the Verkhovna Rada of Autonomous Republic of Crimea in Simferopol. Pro-Ukrainian citizens of the peninsula demanded from the MPs to not adopt the decisions that violate the territorial integrity of Ukraine. The pro-Russian activists urged to join Crimea to Russia.

The clashes took place, dozens of people suffered and two persons died. The session of the parliament was blocked. However, the next day the Russian Special Forces captured the building of the parliament. The soldiers without marks or the so-called ‘little green men’ build the barricades near the entries and raised the flags of Russia.
