Ukraine responded to Russia’s refusal to let ombudswoman Lyudmyla Denisova see Ukrainian political prisoners held in Russian jails. Denisova, Ukraine’s presidential envoy for human rights said this on Monday. According to her, this is due to the fact that the Kremlin violated the agreement with Ukraine.

Several days ago, Denisova’s Russian colleague, Tayana Moskalkova visited the detained crew members of Nord, the fishing vessel arrested in the Sea of Azov.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian ombudswoman was not permitted into the premises of Russian penal colonies, where she intended to meet Ukrainian political prisoners.
