This is a project of the British architect Thomas Heatherwick. He presented his project to the public in the presence of the city mayor of the set construction site - at Hudson Yards, western Manhattan.
The sculpture called "Vessel" is made up of two and a half thousand steps. People passing by will be able to use the stairs or an elevator to climb and explore a new square, surrounded by skyscrapers.
Project costs 150 million dollars. The design is already being produced in Italy.
The construction is to be completed in 2018.
