Russia's Supreme Court hearing in Klykh-Karpyuk case

Ukrainians Stanislav Klykh and Mykola Karpyuk, who were sentenced to 20 years in prison in Russia, take part in the court hearing via a videolink from the detention facility of Grozny, Chechnya. The court hearing will is held today, on October 26.

The Russian jury accused Klykh and Karpyuk in membership to UNA-UNSO (the Ukrainian National Assembly – Ukrainian People's Self-Defence) and fighting on the side of Chechen nationalists as they sought independence from Russia in the 1990s.

Ukrainian MP and former Russian political prisoner Nadiya Savchenko arrived to Moscow as well. She announced earlier that she went to Moscow to support the two detained Ukrainians.
