Gazprom, the Russian energy monopolist claimed it was ready to negotiate on lowering the price for Ukraine by 25 percent from the current one. That would be cheaper than getting the reverse supplies of gas from Europe. Aleksey Miller, the Russian company's CEO reported that during his meeting with Ukrainian politicians in Saint Petersburg.

The delegation's leaders were Viktor Medvedchuk and Yuriy Boiko from the 'Opposition Platform - For Life' party. This is the second round of gas talks held in Russia over the last three months, as the sides discussed issues of possible economic cooperation.
