Searches took place in the house of Crimean Tatar Osman Belyalov in Bakhchysarai, occupied Crimea, human rights watchers reported on Facebook.

“He was not at home during the search. He went to Simferopol, but he didn’t reach the destination. There is no connection with him now,” the message says.

Cars and minibuses of Russian security agencies were near Osman’s house. Almost everyone who comes up to the house is put on the video record.

Russia annexed Crimea in March of 2014. Since then, Ukraine officially considers Crimea a temporarily occupied territory. The international organizations recognized the occupation of the peninsula and condemned Russia’s actions. After the annexation, searches are being conducted on the peninsula regularly. The human rights activists call it “a struggle against dissidence”.
