Mikheil Saakashvili, former Governor of Odesa region and ex-President of Georgia, was readmitted to Poland, from where he illegally came to Ukraine last September, Oleh Slobodyan, Assistant Head of Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service wrote on Facebook.

He noted that today the officers of the Border Guard Service, the employees of the Migration service, and National Police informed Saakashvili about the decision on his readmission to the country where he stayed before illegally arriving in Ukraine. Slobodyan reminded that in September 2017, the Ukrainian court found Saakashvili guilty of illegal crossing of Ukraine’s state border.

In January 2018, the court of Kyiv dismissed Saakashvili’s appeal to the State Migration Service, asking to recognize him a refugee.
