Protests near Russian Embassy in Kyiv amidst aggression in Kerch Strait

A group of protesters went for a rally near the Russian Embassy in Kyiv on Sunday evening. They threw smoke pellets and firecrackers, demanding that the Kremlin stop its aggressive actions in the Sea of Azov. Some of the activists attempted to set the tires on fire, but the police prevented them from doing so.

As is known, Russian naval group attacked the Ukrainain navy vessels in Kerch strait in the Sea of Azov on Sunday. Three ships were damaged and captured by Russian special forces, and six Ukrainian sailors were wounded.

In turn, Ukrainian leader Petro Poroshenko offered to declare a martial law in the country. As of 3 p.m. Monday, Ukrainian Parliament still has not decided whether to support or decline the President’s initiative.
