Mass rallies take place in Kyiv on Tuesday: activists demand canceling parliamentary immunity for lawmakers, changing electoral system and creating the anti-corruption court.

Several thousands of protesters gathered in the government quarter in Kyiv, which is now heavily guarded by the police and the National Guard. The traffic in the downtown is either limited or shut down completely.

Earlier today, President Petro Poroshenko introduced the draft law on cancelling parliamentary immunity, which is one of the protesters’ demands. However, it could only take effect starting from 2020. As of 4 p.m. Tuesday, the protests continue.
