To pay attention on the situation in the Sea of Azov – that was the urge of Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko in his address at the 73rd United Nations General Assembly.

He also stressed that Kyiv always insisted on legal and diplomatic settlement of the conflict in was-torn Donbas. He reminded that Ukraine is interested in introducing a multinational peacekeeping mission in Ukraine’s East.

According to Poroshenko, the mission should have a comprehensive mandate to bring peace back to the temporarily occupied territories, instead of freezing the conflict or nailing down (закрепить присутствие) the presence of aggressor and its allies. The head of the state stated: Russia should be forced to peace.
