Political prisoner Balukh to be transferred to penal colony to Kerch, Crimea

On October 18, Ukrainian political prisoner Volodmyr Balukh will be transferred to Kerch prison, Akhtem Chiygoz, Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars said this as quoted by KrymRealii news agency.

Balukh announced a termless hunger strike on March 19, 2018 and ceased it during a previous prison transfer. According to his lawyer Dmytro Dinze, Balukh might be suffering from an ulcer or pancreatitis.

Balukh was arrested in 2014, as the Russian prosecutors found him guilty of illegal ammunition storage. Balukh is well known for his resistance to the occupation of Crimea by Russia and his patriotic stance. The man is sentenced to three years at a penal colony.
