Office of the President of Ukraine agreed the plan of events timed to the Independence Day. As is known, the main national holiday in this country is marked on August 24. This year, there will be no military parade in Kyiv. Instead, there will be a different ceremony.

It will start with a moment of silence held by the Cross of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred. Activists will pay tribute to those who died for Ukraine, laying flowers to the Cross. The national flag will be hoisted at Maidan Nezalezhnosti Square, as the military orchestra performs the national anthem. An awards ceremony for the prominent Ukrainians will be held, too.

Perhaps, the most anticipated event would be the March of defenders of Ukraine that involves veterans of the military actions in Donbas and those who come to express their gratitude for their courage and valor in the face of the Russian aggression in Ukraine.
