PACE may discuss Russian delegation’s come back today. The Head of Ukrainian delegation at PACE Volodymyr Ariev said that. The Assembly winter session kicks off today in Strasbourg. According to Ariev influential persons within the organization are ready to initiate the change of rules so that the Russian deputies to be able to come back this January 2017.

As it was reported earlier, Russia was deprived of voting rights in the Assembly on April 2014 due to the annexation of Crimea. Russia withdrew their delegation from the PACE completely in protest.

Deputy Head of the Ukrainian delegation George Logvinsky announced that the Assembly Bureau do not support Russia’s idea to change rules of procedures (reglament), but the relative proposition shall be still brought up for the discussion.
