Orthodox Christians are celebrating Epiphany which completes the Christmas holiday cycle.

Traditional customs of the holiday include the blessing of water in churches, as well as diving into ice holes in rivers and lakes. 14 areas for diving with on duty medical staff have been set up across Ukraine's capital.

Among those who dove into ice holes today was the mayor of Kyiv and former heavy-weight boxing champion Vitaly Klitschko, along with other city officials.
