Ongoing Anti-Terror Operation ends in Donbas, Joint Forces Operation kicks off

18:36, 30 April 2018

The anti-terrorist operation ends today. It is going to be replaced by the joint forces operation managed by military officers instead of the security service. A new admission procedure will be introduced throughout the entire Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Admission will be broken down into three areas: a green area with unrestricted access; a yellow area, where documented individuals are allowed to stay, upon examination of their personal belongings and means of transportation; and a red area, where stay is temporarily restricted or prohibited. The area of military action is defined too.

The area will be open exclusively to locals and those with family members and property in the area. Diplomats or humanitarian missions will be admitted, given their ability to confirm identity. Should it be necessary, military servicemen and law enforcement officers will be able to use their guns and special weapons, to restrict and suspend traffic, to enter residential and other premises, to use citizens’ phones and vehicles consensually.
