18:48, 19 September 2018

As parties to the Minsk negotiation group gathered in the Belarusian capital on Wednesday, the Ukrainian side insists that the so-called elections in the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk ‘people’s republics’, should not take place, as they breach the Ukrainian and the international law.

The sides (Ukraine, OSCE and Russia) will also discuss opportunities to withdraw forces from the town of Stanytsia Luhanska. The respective provision is foreseen by Minsk agreement, but the Russian militants have been disrupting the withdrawal process, attacking the Ukrainian outposts and residential areas.
