March, 30 is silence day before election in Ukraine

March 29 is the last day of pre-election campaigning. Since Saturday midnight, it is forbidden to agitate in favor of any of the candidates or release the results of the social surveys. It is only allowed to share information about the actual election process and to urge people to vote.

It is also forbidden to campaign on the election day. A person that takes a photo of the ballot, makes a selfie in the voting cabin or shows the ballot to someone else may face a fine or even imprisonment for up to three years.

An attempt to destroy the ballot may result in four years behind the bars. 39 runners are taking part in this year's election. The first round of the presidential race will take place Sunday, March 31.
