Another three months in jail. The court in the occupied Crimea prolonged the arrest of the Head of the Mejlis of the Crimea Tatar People Akhtem Chiygoz until April 8, 2017. This was reported by his lawyer Nikolai Polozov in his Twitter.

The Deputy Head of Mejlis Akhtem Chyigoz was arrested on January 29, 2015. He is charged with the organization of mass disorders accompanied by violence and destruction of property near the Crimean parliament in February 26, 2014.

The politician denies his guilt.

Ukraine's Foreign Ministry puts his case as another example of Russia backed political repressions against the Ukrainian citizens and Crimean Tatars, who stayed in the occupied Crimea.
