The Law on Donbas re-integration has been published in the official newspaper of the Ukrainian Parliament on Friday. This means the law will come into force tomorrow.

The document at the legislative level defines Russia as an aggressor and relieves Ukraine from responsibility for Russia’s actions in Donbas. The law recognizes only birth and death certificates among the documents issued on the occupied territories.

It closes the Anti-Terrorist Operation and introduces the Joint Forces Operation instead. The head of the operation will be appointed by the president - on the proposal of Chief of the General Staff of Ukraine's Army.  The appointment has to be done within one month.
