Kurt Volker to testify before U.S. Congress on alleged Trump pressure on Zelensky

Kurt Volker will testify before US Congress on Trump's probable pressure on President Zelensky. It was reported by CNN. The hearing is scheduled for tomorrow.

Earlier, Volker held the office of the U.S. Special Envoy to Ukraine. He resigned on September 28 amid a scandal surrounding the phone conversation between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky. The main reason for resignation is that US intelligence officer mentioned him in a complaint.

Reporters claim that Volker arranged a meeting of Trump's lawyer, Giuliani, and Zelensky’s adviser Yermak to discuss the investigation into the “case of Hunter Biden,” who is a son of Trump's main opponent in election. Because of this, lower house of Congress launched an investigation that could result in the presidential impeachment.
