Viktor Yanukovych, the ex-leader of the Ukrainian state may be judged in absentia. The Obolon disctric court in Kyiv ruled so since the refugee president did not show up again before the trail.

The prosecutor read the indictment, under which Yanukovych is charged with state treason.

The lawyers object, saying they would file an appeal on the court’s decision. According to them, the reason Yanukovych misses court sessions is he fears for his life.
