EU, NATO to create center to deter hybrid threats

The EU and NATO are planning to open a center on countering hybrid threats, both military and non-military means of aggression. That’s according to a joint statement following a meeting of defense ministers in Brussels, the EU’s External Action press service reports.

The alliance shall increase cooperation with the European Union in the sphere of cyber security, strategic communications and weapons development. The maximum assistance is promised to Ukraine.

The Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Jens Stoltenberg says that it is about assistance in countering corruption and modernization of the defense sector.

“Ukraine’s issue remains of high priority in European policy,” stressed the High Representative Federica Mogherini.
