EU informal summit kicked off in Bratislava

The EU informal summit kicked off in Bratislava, Slovakia. The summit is first held without the UK , as the British voted for leaving the European Union on the Brexit referendum.

Therefore, the main subjects of the meetings were about Brexit and its consiquences for the EU. The participants are to talk about immigrants, terrorist threats and safety challenges. The situation in Ukraine is also in their agenda.

Negotiations take place in Bratislava Castle - the biggest castle of Slovakian capital. Informal meetings will be held in the central concert hall.

Many streets of the city and bridges over the Danube are blocked. The old city and the airport - are also closed for two hours in the morning and in the evening.

The summit is held Bratislava amidst to the presidency of Slovakia the EU parliament, which will be lasting for the next six months.
