The Grand Chamber of the European Court for Human Rights will start the session in the case Ukraine versus Russia, which is related to Crimea. This is mentioned on the Court's website.

Ukraine is represented by Ivan Lishchyna, the country's Envoy for ECHR Affairs. Ukraine's lawsuit concerns multiple violations of human rights that Russia allowed after taking effective control over the Crimean peninsula on February 2014.

The crimes included murders of Ukrainian military servicemen, law enforcers and civilians; political persecutions of journalists and public activists and numerous arrests and intimidation acts against Crimean Tatars. In its lawsuit, Kyiv appeals to the articles of European Convention for Human Rights.
