Earthquake in Romania reaches Odesa: no damage reported

The 5.6-point strong earthquake in eastern Romania reportedly reached Odesa, southern Ukraine. The weak after-shakes of 3-4 points were clearly tangible in the city on small hours of December 28, the Ukrainian Emergency State Service reports.

The inhabitants of Odessa wrote on social media that they heard the doors creak, the chandeliers sway and the glasses clink.

The tremor lasted for about a minute in Kyiv too. The aftershocks were also tangible in other cities of Ukraine, namely, Khmelnytsky, Cherkasy, and Kropyvnytsky.

According to the State Emergency Service, no casualties reported.
