Death toll went up to 23 in Indonesia

The death toll went up to 23 due to the floods in the West of Indonesia. At least 18 are listed as missing. The rainfalls caused powerful floods in the region.

The water came up to several meters in some places. The situation on Java Island is reportedly the worst.

Almost 500 people were forced to leave their houses. Authorities brought them to army barracks and other evacuation centers.

The police and army men were send to help rescuers in the disaster area. Helicopters deliver food, fresh water and medicine to the Java Island.

The damage scale is yet to be specified.
