Court hearing into the case of Olexandr Yefremov will continue today.

The former leader of pro-Russian Party of Regions is charged with state treason, supporting separatism and assisting raiders in the armed takeover of Luhansk regional state administration in spring 2014.

The previous hearing took place on January 24; back then, Yefremov’s defense team asked to challenge the judge and the prosecutor. The appeals were declined; however, two more lawyers were allowed to join the defense team.

The court ruled that the defendant will stay in detention at least until March 22.
