Celebration of Rosh Hashanah in Ukraine

16:30, 11 September 2018

Every year Uman, a small town in central Ukraine, hosts dozens of thousands of pilgrims – Breslov Hasidim. They come from all over the world to celebrate Rosh Hashanah, Jewish New Year, at the grave of Rabbi Nachman, their leader and founder of Breslov branch of Hasidic Judaism. It is believed that the new year will be happy and wealthy if celebrated in this very place.

Traditionally, the celebration lasts 3 days, this year on September 9 – 11. However, Uman gets ready to host its guests long before that.
