All 24 Ukrainian sailors detained in the Kerch Strait claimed themselves prisoners of war. Nikolai Polozov, the Russian lawyer posted that on Facebook.

He added that the wounded sailors Andriy Eider and Andriy Artemenko insisted on their status in the conversation with the Russian investigators on Thursday.

'The sailors are acting within the common strategy. It gives a common well-adjusted position, which, if used along with the legal, diplomatic and political levers, should lead to political decisions on their release. The entire civilized world considers them POWs, and only Russian government consider them criminals', Polozov said.
